Hello and Welcome Lovelies
I’m Natasha Kisten-Skuce, the woman behind the brand FIT LIKE MUMMY. I am a 40-year-old working mom and part-time blogger of two gorgeous boys.
When I first started my journey at the end of 2016, all I wanted to do was lose weight. So I decided to turn my Instagram account, COOL LIKE MUMMY into a fitness diary. The idea was to use social media to hold myself accountable and to push myself to achieve my initial goal of losing 35 kilos in a year. A month into my journey, I realised that I needed to take my kids along for the journey. I wanted them to learn from an early age about living a healthy lifestyle and living their best lives, and that is how FIT LIKE MUMMY came to be. So I changed my IG handle and that was that. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still ultra cool (even my kids say so), but now I’m fitter and healthier.
Soon after, my following started to grow and people were contacting me to say that I had inspired them and that I had changed their lives through my transformation. It was rather surreal and humbling all at the same time, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I would live a life that not only inspired others, but also encouraged them to live their best lives. I had numerous requested to start a blog where I could share my journey and after much convincing from pretty amazing friends and followers, I bit the bulletin and started this blog.
On a normal day I’m a warrior mom who lives life to the fullest. Our weekends are spent adventuring and exploring beautiful South Africa. We are definitely a bucket list family always in search of the next new adventure. We are so not big on the whole “rest thing” so finding us at home is a rare phenomenon. Adventuring is a huge part of how we keep fit together as a family, so look forward to hearing about our many adventures, as we live like tourists in our own beautiful country, South Africa.
One more very important fact about me – I’m a foodie! I spend way too much time in the kitchen, cooking up a storm. I absolutely love food and cooking is my way of expressing my love for the people I care about. As a result, I wasn’t prepared to eat so-called rabbit food just to lose weight. I really didn’t need that kind of negativity in my life, so I found ways to eat healthier without compromising on amazing and yummy food. The blog has a page dedicated so some of my favourite and oh so yummy recipes. I’m also the self-proclaimed Queen of Meal Prep and meal prep is my Sunday afternoon vibe. You can follow my #instastories on a Sunday afternoon as I take you step by step through my weekly meal preps.
Follow our journey on this blog and Instagram account to see how we tackle one day at a time to a fitter, happier and healthier life, while living our best lives.
